Awaken in the Canyons

April 26 - May 4, 2024

  • a moderately strenuous expedition, for people comfortable with physical exertion. Beginners welcome.

  • offered to women identified, and non-binary+ folks.

  • starts and ends in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Here’s what happens on the Expedition:

  • Front End / Pre-Trip Coaching

You begin with two sessions to get clear on what you are longing for with your coach. Together we’ll design your unique coaching program that lets you see yourself clearly and imagine a new way of being that supports your deepest alignment.

  • The Expedition

We will put on our backpacks and walk into the Canyons for 8 days. We’ll start our mornings with guided movement and mindfulness practice. Each day we will offer prompts and frameworks to help you get clear about your purpose. We’ll have a mix of nourishing group experience and delicious solo time. You’ll have individual conversations with your coach. You’ll watch yourself in action as you live in a group, make decisions, and do hard things. You’ll get clarity on your patterns of resistance, your unique gifts, and what you are meant for in this world.

  • The Place

We designed this route to visit magical slot canyons and panoramic mesa top vistas. We’ll do some technical rappelling. We’ll offer an optional solo experience. We’ll experience challenges looking for water. We’ll carry full expedition packs on our backs as we travel each day, and make camp under the stars. We’ll find breathtaking red rock cathedrals, and exquisite tiny details in the desert. The magic of the place will open you to the magic of the possibilities within you.

  • Post-Expedition Coaching

After the dust has settled and laundry is done you’ll get on a call with your coach to integrate and anchor what has come alive in you. You’ll map out a path forward that allows you to live into your new way of being.

  • Online Community

We’ll stay connected in a private online group where we cheer each other on and give and get support.

  • Included in Your Registration:

Individual coaching and the full expedition experience. Travel to trailhead from Salt Lake City and all meals, excluding our closing dinner, are included in the cost of the expedition. We provide all group camping gear and individual gear is available for rent. We’ll give you a detailed equipment list and help you decide what to pack. Specific dietary needs can be easily met.

Nuts and Bolts

We meet in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the evening of April 26.  We will begin to form together as a group, organize and pack our gear. The next morning we drive to the trailhead in the Bears Ears National Monument. The first day is a short hike to our first camp. You can expect to hike between 3 - 8 miles each day partially on trails, and often off trail in slickrock and canyon terrain.  Camp will be simple outdoor living with no facilities. We’ll carry packs that weigh 35-45 lbs. Each of us contributes to cooking, outdoor living tasks and a supportive group culture. This expedition offers an opportunity for rappelling into a technical slot canyon (we’ll teach you everything you need to know!) and an optional solo. We’ll hike out to the trailhead on May 4, and drive back to Salt Lake City for showers and a celebratory dinner. You will travel home the next day, May 5.

Physical Requirements:
You do not need to have prior experience backpacking or camping. We will provide all the support to let you thrive even if you have never slept outside or hiked on a trail. You need to be comfortable walking long distances and with physical exertion. You need to be open to experiencing your body in new and challenging ways. Often, people are surprised by how capable they are physically and humbled by mental challenges they didn’t expect. You do NOT need to be a super athlete to thrive on this expedition.
